The great thing about slow cookers is that there is no end of things you can create – and it doesn’t usually take much time to throw together something tasty. Slow Cooker Curry
One of the best easy things to cook in the slow cooker for a fun meal is curry and rice. One of the nicest meals to have on a cold day, especially if you can simply come home and heat up some microwave rice and know that your piping hot curry will be ready to join it. Chicken thighs are a great choice of meat when it comes to making easy things to cook in the slow cooker but actually, you can choose any meat you want, just adjust the cooking time as needed. For seasoning, you can choose what you want but garlic, ginger and curry powder are a good place to start. You can add things like chilli flakes if you want it spicy and mango chutney if you want it sweet. You’ll want some liquid, this can be coconut milk, water or a mixture of the two. Plenty of water and then you simply put on your slow cooker for around 6 hours until everything is cooked, if it isn’t thickening then towards the end make a paste with flour and water and add this in before you cook a little further. You can add dumplings towards the end if you want or serve with crusty bread – delicious and so warming. Experimentation is the best part when it comes to easy things to cook in the slow cooker.

Slow Cooker Breakfast
It isn’t just dinner that you can make in the slow cooker, it’s perfectly easy to make slow cooker breakfast too. You might want some slow cooker-friendly pots so you can separate things out in the pan before you put your cooker on. For example, you’ll want things like beans, mushrooms and eggs in separate pots – and a good tip is to add some butter to both the eggs and the mushrooms. Place these pots in the middle and then put your bacon and sausages stood up around the edge. This breakfast takes around 9 hours in the slow cooker, so you can put it on before you go to bed and wake up to a hassle-free cooked breakfast, yum!
