Well, this weather is certainly something, isn’t it? It was scorching hot before 8:30 am this morning, and it shows no signs of going!
How are you finding it? Now that the warm weather is here you might be wondering how you can make the most of your home this summer – so here are some tips!
Get Your Outdoor Space Ready
Whatever outdoor space you have, now is the time to make the most of it. You might find that it’s too warm to go out mid-afternoon (and definitely too warm for dogs!) but in the mornings and in the evenings a bit of sunshine will do you the world of good. So if you have a garden why not look to see if you can invest in some affordable garden furniture? Maybe everything needs a bit of a spruce up after winter, don’t worry – you’re not alone! Think of how you can make the most of the space to relax too – maybe you want a decking area or to invest in some hammocks for the ultimate in summer relaxtion.
Do You Need to Extend?
Now that lots of us are spending more time at home and working from home is likely to become much more popular, you might be considering how to make more space in your home. Conservatories are a great way to add space to your home, but also enjoy the weather! With lots of glass, you get to enjoy the brightness of the sunshine but also with some lovely big doors to ensure you get a bit of a breeze. Working in your conservatory or even relaxing here can feel like a halfway house between sitting indoors and sitting in the garden, which when it’s really warm makes it just about perfect.
Time To Make Hay While The Sun Shines?
Lots of us are guilty of putting off jobs until they really need going, but if you have been considering changing your windows, upcycling furniture or upgrading your double glazing, now is the perfect time to do it. Yes, you could wait until it’s an urgent job, but having all of the windows in your house removed is most certainly more enjoyable in June than it is in November! There are so many window options out there which means that whatever sort of new windows you’re looking for, you should be able to find something that suits you! Things like composite decking boards can help to make different areas of your garden so that you can make the most of the space you have!
Staying Comfortable
If your house gets very hot then don’t be afraid to open the windows and close the curtains. Although it can feel like a shame to shut out the nice weather, it is a great way to keep your house nice and cool – and being comfortable is most definitely the most important thing! Look at things like hammocks and seating options, so that you can make the most of your time outside. A hammock stand is a great accessory to ensure that your hammock is sturdy and comfortable.
Get Those Ice Lollies at The Ready
Okay, this one is a bit of a cheat but now is the time to stock up on ice lollies! Ice pops, icecreams, crushed ice – whatever you need to see you through the warm weather. Personally we have been enjoying the Iceland range of sweet inspired ice lollies, have you tried them? The Black Jack ones are INCREDIBLE!
If you have any tips to share on how to make the most of your home this summer, we’d love to hear them. Did you install a conservatory and now enjoy it in the summer? We want to hear all about it!
