Whether you’re a new business owner or running one that is already well-established there are many things that you need to concentrate on in order to ensure success. However, whilst there are different things that can be deemed important, there is no denying that good customer service is at the top of the list.

Happy Customers
Whilst we might be beyond the ‘the customer is always right‘ phase, there is no way that any business wants to have unhappy customers in this day and age. Whilst companies should have always been concentrating on good customer service, the internet and social media makes it even more essential. These days customers can take their dissatisfaction to the internet at the click of a button with the potential of thousands of people seeing the details of their complaints. The way that this is dealt with by the company in question is definitely something that potential customers will be on the lookout for, so much better to avoid unhappy customers wherever possible instead.
Good Customer Service
It isn’t just bad customer service that is highlighted online, companies that offer great customer service can build their reputation via social media too. For example, many people know that the Aldi Twitter feed is one where customers are dealt with well – but also the customer service team inject a sense of humour into their posts too. CallCare has recently released some data regarding the Best UK Airports and Airlines based on customer service. This is more prevalent than ever, with airports and airlines hitting the headlines for delays at airports, cancelled flights and general unhappiness for many holiday-goers.
Being Contactable
Whilst most customers accept that things can go wrong, it is how easy companies are to contact and how they deal with these complaints that really matters. For example, the CallCare data looks at how quickly customer service teams answered the phone; with Emirates coming out on top with an average wait time of 2-minutes. However, there is definitely a big difference between companies with Virgin Atlantic taking an average of 100 minutes to answer the phone and Qatar not answering at all!

This is something that people will remember and next time may book with a different company, who are easy to get in touch with if they are needed.
