3 Ways To Keep The Family Entertained, Even in Winter. You’ll notice a reoccurring theme with posts on Lucha Libre recently – WINTER! We’re not massive fans of the colder weather and darker nights; so summer can’t come back quick enough for us – with a brief enjoyable interlude for Christmas of course! However, we also know that winter isn’t going anywhere, so here are some ways to keep the family entertained, even in winter!
Keep The Family Entertained: Try a New Hobby
You’re never too old, or too young to try a new hobby – after all, we all have things that we haven’t yet tried. When it comes to picking a new hobby to try everyone will have different things that they like or dislike. Speak to the whole family about things they have always wanted to try and see what you can do to make it happen. We know that sometimes cost can be a factor, so try to think outside of the box when trying to make hobbies happen.
For example, if you have a child that wants to take up horse riding, could they volunteer to help clean out timber stables at somewhere such as Vale Stables, which can be a great way to get your foot in the door? Volunteering is a great way to give something back to the community but also to teach your kids new skills – and give you an affordable way to offer them some of the activities that they really want to do

Keep The Family Entertained: Explore The Local Area
However long you have lived in your area, there are bound to be places you haven’t yet visited or new places opened up that you haven’t had a chance to try. Wrap up warm and get exploring – local activities are a great way of keeping everyone entertained without having to factor in long, expensive journeys to get there. It could be a walk somewhere new, a free museum you haven’t yet visited or even out for dinner somewhere – we’re very rarely tourists in our own towns and it’s something we should try to do more of!
Keep The Family Entertained: Get Everyone Involved
Don’t put the entertainment of the whole family on your shoulders – speak to everyone and get them involved in letting you know what they want to do. Older children can even be involved in looking at entrance fees or how to get there on Google Maps. That way, you can feel confident that you’re taking them somewhere they want to go – and that is the best way to ensure that they’re suitably entertained.

Keep The Family Entertained: Bonus Idea – Have winter fun outside
One of the best parts about winter is enjoying all the fun activities that come with the colder weather. Sledding, skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, building snowmen, and making snow angels are just some of the things you can do outdoors when the temperature drops. Another great way to enjoy the winter season is by decorating your yard or patio with festive lights and inflatables. You can find inflatables in all sorts of shapes and sizes, from traditional Christmas figures like Santa and Frosty the Snowman to more unique designs like reindeer and candy canes.
And if you really want to stand out from the crowd, you can even find customizable winter inflatables with your own personal message or favourite holiday character. No matter how you choose to decorate, adding some festive flair to your outdoor space is a great way to get into the winter spirit.
If you have any surefire ways to keep the family entertained, we’d love you to share them with us!
