You would be surprised to learn how beneficial delegating household chores can be for children in their development. Not only does it teach valuable life skills for the future, but also teaches children the importance of hard work and allows them to appreciate the effort that goes behind being their parent. As an incentive, it’s a good idea to reward their effort with pocket money or other alternatives. As the pound coins add up, they will develop positive attitudes towards work.

Additionally, your child can partake in a work placement whereby they shadow and work voluntarily to understand the world of work. They will be able to gain real-life experience and perspective of what it’s like to be an adult.

School is another example of where your child can see the fruits of their work. Preparation and commitment are essential for good grades and seeing progress from their hard work can help children develop a strong work ethic and desire to do their best.

Naturally, they will look up to you for direction and guidance which is why you should be a good role model and demonstrate hard work and resilience throughout the various aspects of your life. Showing this vulnerability and the will power to still try your best can serve as a good lesson to children and send a powerful message to stay positive and do their best.
